Welcome to another amazing week. It’s a chance for a new beginning, as every day, week, month, and year is filled with many opportunities that you can take advantage of.
You must consider each day in the context of your personal development and growth, and exploit the opportunities that arise from it.
Each day and each week brings great opportunities for growth in ways that you might not reckon with. Consider everything, from meeting people to working, as an opportunity, and always prime yourself to do your best.
When is Life?
I believe this is one of the most significant questions everyone should ask themselves. WHEN IS LIFE?
If you genuinely want to live your life, when will it be? What is the ideal time for you to live to the fullest, do what you would love to, and conclude that you’re enjoying life? When would that be?
I know the reality of the question is currently hitting you as it has been for most of the time, and you’re probably making a series of projections already, as it has been your custom.
You can see a great life in the future, and your calculation has always been about how you will live the best life when the conditions you put in place finally align. You constantly enjoy the loftiness of the sweet dreams in your head both night and day.
I should say I love it for you because the initiative to imagine life with a long lens that can see the beauty that has not yet been attained. It is a great skill to create what you want, but when life is based on the concept of what you could get later, then living stops.
When life becomes a thing of tomorrow because the things you want are in the future, you lose sight of what is real, what you have now. Life becomes an unending conditional postponement, lacking the potential for fulfilment.
The Conditional Postponement.
I will be more confident when I buy that shoe, I will go out more when I buy a car, I will talk to the girl I like when I have more money, and I will give the guy a chance when, well, I really don’t know what ladies say in those situations. Let’s move on.
When your life is riddled with I will do this when that happens and everything is on hold because of one condition or the other, you will lose the essence of living because you lack the confidence to honour what is in front of you.
Your life is always in front of you, and many people postpone living the life in front of them because they lack the self-esteem to carry and present themselves the way they are now in the best way.
You are who you are now, and the most significant leverage you can build is to create the ability and self-esteem to maximise who you are. Right now.
Your life cannot improve; there is nothing to improve because the life you were given by God is whole, not damaged, and not limited, and you do not have the technology to improve it. Your life is whole and complete.
This is where you should form an identity, knowing that the life God gave you is whole and that you’re not in any way lesser than anyone; this is the core of the second pillar of high self-esteem: knowing that you’re created for the best and that you deserve the best.
It’s crucial to know that your life and the conditions of your life are not the same thing. When you have high self-esteem, you will understand that life is what you live, and the conditions of your life are part of the process of living life.
It means you can postpone living your life because you don’t have a car. That would mean living through the conditions of life and not living life, and when you’re caught in this circle, it only goes round and round; it never stops spinning.
The future never comes with conditional living because it doesn’t exist as long as it’s based on conditions; there will always be more conditions.
You wanted a car, and when you have it, you will want a better one. It is low self-esteem when your life is attached to fleeting conditions that provide only momentary satisfaction before pushing you back into the circle to spin for more.
Living under these conditions is the same as defining life from the wrong source. It is good to improve your life’s conditions, but the improvements you seek cannot be the basis of your life; life itself is complete and worth living now.
The Future is Now.
Everything real about life is in NOW.
The past happened, but in the context of life, there is nothing real about it now; it’s gone. The future is not real either; it might live in your imaginative thinking, but you can’t live life as imaginative thinking. Life is not VR.
What you have now, what you are now, are the only real things in life, and the outcome of tomorrow depends on whether you live the life you have now and use the things you have now.
You can learn from the past and imagine the future, but you can’t live in both; the only way you can live is to live in this moment now. If you fail to live in the now, the only reality is suffering through life.
Low self-esteem stops people from living in the now because it deceives them into thinking that what they have now, who they are now, is not good enough. This is not true because all you have to build what you want will always be what you have now.
No matter who you are and the stage of life that you’re in, there are two things that everyone should have. The first is the innate belief that you’re competent, and the second is that you’re worthy of the best things in life.
If you’re wondering what those two things mean, search the two terms in this newsletter, and you’ll have more than enough materials to explain them in detail. I promise to keep writing about them in the future, too. Search Self-efficacy. (Competence) Self-respect. (Worthiness)
The Solution to the Problem.
Low self-esteem is why people cannot live the life they have now; they draw a false identity from their past and future and conclude that their present is not good enough.
Anything that makes you conclude that you’re not good enough now is low self-esteem, and the solution to that is to build high self-esteem.
The power to live your life now and create whatever you want is highly boosted by the innate belief that you’re competent, which is the belief that you’re good enough to live now, and secondly, the innate belief that you’re deserving of whatever you want now.
Finally, as you enjoy the week, remember that life is in NOW, and anything that stops you from living now is a false identity called low self-esteem.
Talk to you again soon.
